My Thoughts: PAULO FREIRE PEDAGOGY of the OPPRESSED

For reading the few chapter of Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, I believe that it will be challenging because of the type of dialogue Freire uses. Also, it can be a very eye-opening reading. He discusses things like social injustice in the education system, elaborate on his philosophy of the underclass and debate on maneuvers that need to be made to end this inequity. Freire also talks about the dynamic of the oppressed and the oppressors, which I thought was a good viewpoint of the upper class and underclass. Exampling how the oppressed and oppressors are responsible for their own reaction, even saying that they have to change their dynamic in order to change their predicament in society (To empower yourself or to empower other).

In chapter 2,  Freire goes to talk about the banking system, which was something I could relate to. In the education system, the teacher is seen as the higher power and the information that given from the teacher to the students is seen a gift bestowed upon them. Also the only way of learning, which I thought wasn’t a creative environment for students.
Paulo Freire outlook on society and the education system, gets teachers and future teachers asking is this the right way to teach?
